“Frankenstein is set in present-day Los Angeles and told from the perspective of Adam/The Monster (Samuel), who is created by a husband-and-wife team of eccentric scientists only to be met with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him.” – Deadline Hollywood
Candyman is one of my favourite horror films but I’m not really a fan of modernising classic stories. (Modern day Sherlock for example – no thank you.)
Speaking of Frankenstein, it was revealed last year that our beloved Universal Monsters are being given a series of reboots and just recently it has been announced that The Mummy is the first to receive a facelift. I quite enjoyed The Wolfman remake that came out in 2010 and of all the monsters The Mummy is my least favourite so I’m open to seeing how that’s going to develop.
What are your thoughts on modern-day revamps and the Universal Monsters being brought out to play again?
